Stainless steel products are available in mirror and/or satin finishes. The durability of stainless steel allows
the product to be used in most environments - inside or outside. We use various grades of stainless steel depending on the application and budget.
The standard stainless steel planters are made of 304 or 430 grade stainless steel - but 316 marine grade stainless steel can be supplied on request and is recommended if the planters are to be used near the sea.
The 304 grade stainless steel
is the most versatile and widely used of all stainless steels. Its chemical composition, mechanical properties, weldability and corrosion/oxidation resistance provides the best all-round performance stainless steel. It is recommended for interior and exterior use (except for high rust areas near the coast).
The
430 grade stainless steel is specifically for interior use in areas where rust/corrosion is not prevalent (inland).
It is important to keep all grades of stainless steel clean and free from any corrosive residue to avoid rust problems.
